Pricing benchmarks
Shopify app pricing benchmarks are useful only with category context
A monthly price does not explain an opportunity by itself. Pricing needs to be read alongside merchant pain, app review friction, support burden, category saturation, and whether the tool touches sensitive storefront or checkout surfaces.
What To Compare
- Free entry versus paid-only positioning.
- Plan limits by orders, products, pages, channels, or features.
- Enterprise or usage-sensitive anchors.
- Bundled features that blur category boundaries.
What To Avoid
- Outdated price quotes without observed dates.
- Claims that a price gap proves an easy app opportunity.
- Publishing exact private product wedges.
- Revenue or Shopify approval guarantees.
